Find Some Inspiring Landscape Photographers to Follow
I have found a lot of motivation by following some amazing landscape photographers to follow online.
In addition to feeling inspired by their style, I also read and watch them through their blogs and videos, to understand how to stay motivated in my own process.
While I always avoid a step by step duplication of a photographer’s processes, watching them work with their levels of passion in their craft is always motivating for me.
These are some in particular that have mastered the style that I am feeling drawn to, and have all been strong influences during my journey of learning and practicing landscape photography.
Dave Morrow
https://www.davemorrowphotography.com/
Dave Morrow is a local PNW photographer that I had found and followed early in my own photography journey here in the PNW.
He has absolutely mastered all aspects of landscape photography, including the technical aspects of how cameras work, composition, color theory, hiking and backpacking instruction, trip planning, and many others.
He thoroughly teaches all of these skills on both his website and YouTube channel, and his expedition videos are very inspiring to watch.
Erwin Buske
Erwin is another PNW photographer, who has mastered a style of landscape photography that truly reflects his intense appreciation of nature.
Due to his original composition and editing style, I had found myself able to identify a recently posted photo as his, before I even saw who posted it.
William Patino
I had begun following this New Zealand photographer once I saw his collection of incredibly composed photos, that were edited with a simple, yet artistic painting style.
William actually paints his edits on his photos in Lightroom, which replicates the process of painting, to bring out the subtle details of his photographs.
He does just the minimal brush edits needed to masterfully bring out the necessary changes to complete his vision for the photo.
That concept is very refreshing in this world of overcooked Instagram edits I usually see.
Paintings

In addition to the photographers above, I also get an immense amount of inspiration by viewing older oil paintings, wherever and whenever I get an opportunity to look at them.
Mostly, I get the opportunity to view these types of paintings at antique shops.
While I don’t follow a specific painter, I mainly just become inspired by the composition, light, and depth that is masterfully brought together for these types of landscape paintings.
Hope you enjoyed this list, and continue to find inspiration of your own by looking at the masterpieces created by your favorite artists to follow!
